The chin is part of facial aesthetic balance that gives harmony to the face. In cases where there is a marked decrease in the chin, one must resort to mentoplasty. Performing this procedure can be combined with other surgeries such as rhinoplasty, double chin liposuction, rhytidoplasty and blepharoplasty among others, in order to give better symmetry to the facial features.

TYPES OF SURGERY

- CHIN IMPLANT

The surgeon makes an incision in the crease of the oral mucosa called carriage, inside the mouth. Then creates a space or pocket for synthetic implant which comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Then proceeds to close the incisions. This technique generates no external scars and cosmetic results are natural.

- Lipoinjection of the chin

This technique is performed by vacuuming in a body fat area, subsequently this fat is injected into the chin in the manner indicated. It should be noted that this technique is dependent on an increase or decrease in weight, as if the patient loses weight is decreasing fat tissue including this area. It is recommended to maintain an ideal weight and permanent in these cases.

The lipoinjection chin requires maintaining weight and in this type of surgery can be evidenced reabsorption of up to 30% of the injected tissue.
